The Tadeusz Tylewski Gdańsk Medical University Choir is one
of the oldest Polish student ensembles. It celebrated its 60th anniversary
in 2006. The choir has received many prestigious awards in Polish
and foreign choir competitions. Most recently the choir won gold
and a silver medal in the World Choir Games in Xiamen (China) in
2006.The choir has given concerts in 27 countries, performing various
vocal music, gospel songs and oratorios. Jerzy Szarafiński, has
been the conductor of the choir since 1988. He began his career
in 1978. His efforts to spread amateur culture have gained him many
national medals and awards.
