About


The youth-children choir "Lira" is based at Minsk State Secondary School № 66 and has title "Honored amateur collective of the Republic of Belarus". It performs regularly at major festivals throughout the year. The various repertoire of the choir contains Belarusian and foreign music.

Some of their recent awards are: Grand Prix at the II International Festival of Sacred Music named John Paul II in Gdansk (2016, Poland), Gold diploma and the first cap Grand Prix at the 7th Festival Kaunas Musica Religiosa 2017, Grand Prix at the VI International Competition "Golden Ribbon Shalchi" in Eishishkes (2017, Lithuania).

Elena Latsapneva has been the conductor of the choir "Lira" since 1998. She is a graduate Belarusian State Academy of Music. She was awarded a diploma in the category "The best Choral Conductor" at ХI Festival-competition "Slavianski venets" in Kranevo (Bulgaria), at the VII International Competition Robert Schumann in Zwickau and at the XIV International Felix Nowowiejski Choir Music Festival in Barczewo.

Minsk - the capital of Belarus. The city more than 900 years. During the Second World War it was almost completely destroyed, but was surprisingly quickly restored. It is a large (2 million people) modern city with green parks, wide avenues, helpful citizens. Many universities and colleges are located in Minsk, so there are a lot of young people. This ancient and young city.
