Sound ChoirBucharest, Romania Voicu Popescu - conductor Competition Concert
Concert of Sacred Music
Sound Choir started out as a student’s choir 16 years ago in Bucharest, Romania. It now gathers together young people in love with music that have turned their hobby into passion. The conductor’s art of harmonizing the choir’s voices turned them into very sensitive singers. Their strength lies in the power of the emotions they share with their listeners. With a very wide repertoire, including traditional Romanian songs, madrigals, gospels, byzantine music and jazz, they enjoy every single minute of singing the music of the world. Sound Choir has toured a lot and won some prizes in international contests:
Voicu Popescu graduated from National Music University in Bucharest and he began his dedication to choral art as a member of the National Chamber Choir “Madrigal”. Afterwards he collaborated with this ensemble as Choir Master and Artistic Director. In 1994 he founded Sound Choir and Cultural Foundation “Sound”, through which he organized choral festivals, symposiums and master classes in Romania and participated at many artistic events all over the country and abroad. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
