Concert of Sacred Music
We are an academic choir from the Warsaw School of Social Sciences and Humanities of Poland. The group was established in 2001. We have performed at many concerts, festivals and competitions, such as “The Night of Russian Opera” (2005), “Candide” by Leon Bernstein (2006), Symphony No. 2 in C minor by Gustav Mahler (2007), International Festival of the Orthodox Church Music “Boh je laska” in Slovakia (2008), Video Games Live! Show (2009), International Festival of the Orthodox Church Music “Hajnówka 2009” in Poland (2009, second place prize) and the International Festival of Choir Music by Felix Nowowiejski in Poland (2010, second place prize). Ewa Mackiewicz has been the conductor of the WSSSH Choir since the very beginning of the choir’s existence. She is an alumna of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (composition, conducting and theory of music, 2002). As of a few years ago she also cooperates with the famous polish “Mazowsze” Tadeusz Sygietyński State Folk Song and Dance Ensemble. Warsaw is Poland’s capital and an economic, political, and cultural centre. The symbol of the city is the mermaid. Warsaw is a bustling metropolis and features an unforgettable history. It is a city where a fourth of the terrain is covered by parkland and a city of culture for all tastes and budgets. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
