The Atatürk Youth Choir was founded under the leadership of TED Antalya College in Turkey. The choir is comprised of students aged twelve to seventeen. The choir regularly performs in Antalya and occasionally in other places in Turkey. The students are a very enthusiastic group of young amateurs eager to participate and learn everything they can about music from the international choir scene. They often travel in order to learn and exchange their experiences with other young people. They are proud of their current achievements and are looking forward to their future with great hopes.

Ufuk Tan Yalçınkaya, the director of the Atatürk Youth Choir, was born in 1963 in Ulukaya, Turkey. She graduated with a degree in music from the Pedagogical Faculty at Gazi University. She currently directs the Polyphonic Choir and Turkish Folk Music Choir at TED Antalya College, where she works. She has participated in the High School Choir Festival in Turkey and the Ankara Polyphonic Choir Festival.

Antalya is nestled between majestic coastlines and the towering Toros (Taurus) Mountains. It is the principal holiday resort region in the Mediterranean and is steeped in history dating back to the 2nd century B.C. when Attalus II, a king of Pergamon, named the city Attaleia after himself. Prior to coming under Ottoman Rule the city was occupied by Romans, Byzantines and Seljuks. Its shady, palm-lined boulevards, prize-winning marina and picturesque old quarter, make Antalya an ideal destination.
