The choir performs all genres of music including spiritual music, ethno music of the Balkans, modern music and song arrangements tailor made for the choir.

The choir has received many awards and most recently they were awarded the Zlatni Opanak in the Valjevo, Serbia. They also received the Silver Medal for best chamber choir in Biljeljina, BiH at the Bijeljina’s Musical Festival in May.

Izvornik’s conductor, professor Ljubisa Popovic, was born in 1971 in Zvornik. He graduated from Music Art Faculty in Sarajevo and currently works as the principal manager of the Music Primary School in Zvornik.

Zvornik is a town of sixty thousand and is situated in northeast Bosnia bordering Serbia. The town was first mentioned in 1410 in Dubrovnik Chronicles. Zvornik is famous for its old fortresses above the city, the beautiful river Drina, significant historical sites and many medieval monasteries. The town is a venue for many cultural events among which Zvornik’s Summer, an annual week-long event held in August, is most notable. The hospitality of its people, both Serbs and Bosnians is well known, and they welcome you to visit their beautiful town!
