The Camerata Choir started its work in 1986. It is an amateur group which gathers enthusiasts for choral singing of different professions and ages. Members realise their passion through singing choral pieces of various styles and eras. The choir performs concerts mainly in Poland but it has also performed in England, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy and the Vatican. It is an honoree of many Polish and foreign choral festivals and competitions. Many pieces of the choir's repertoire have been broadcast on the radio and recorded on CDs. Besides singing, the Camerata Choir also works for the local society by promoting and popularizing the music culture. Since 2001, the group has organized the Iławskie Spotkania Chóralne (Choir Meetings).
Honorata Cybula is a conductor, music educator, and animator of choral activity. She is also a research worker and lecturer at the Art Faculty of the Music Institute of the Warminsko-Mazurski University in Olsztyn. Since 1993, she has been the artistic director and the conductor of the mixed choir Camerata.
Iława is a charming town with 700−years of tradition in the northeastern region of Poland, with 34,000 inhabitants. Numerous lakes, beautiful forests and varied topographic features of the region contribute to the touristic attraction of Iława. Every summer Iława is visited by a number of tourists that rest, relax, and, with pleasure, take part in musical festivals of world notoriety, such as the Old Jazz Meeting “Złota Tarka” or the Summer Festival Shanties.
