The mixed choir “Pavlović” works within the Cultural Association “Đoka Pavlović” from Belgrade as one of its departments. With a tradition lasting over 65 years, being established by the Post of Serbia in 1945, the choir has participated in numerous festivals and competitions in Serbia and Europe (Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Slovakia etc.). The choir frequently performs together with the dancing section of the Cultural Association and nurtures traditional, popular and sacral music.
Đorđe Perović (1977) graduated in conducting from the Belgrade Faculty of Music in the class of Darinka Matić Marović. During his career, he has collaborated with a large number of choirs and vocal ensembles, such as: the choir in the Church of the Holy Ascension in Belgrade, Choral Society of Sombor, the choir “Cvetković” from Belgrade, and finally the choir “Pavlović”. Apart from performances in Serbia, he has conducted several successful concerts in France, Poland and Austria.
Belgrade is proud to be a city which hosts many choral ensembles and music festivals. Belgrade enjoys a bustling, hectic and lovable cultural scene of which choir singing is an inseparable part.
